Monday, September 24, 2018 — On September 20th, an international judging panel of 100 brewers, industry experts, and journalists gathered in London to identify the best beers in each of the nine categories of the annual World Beer Awards. Over 2,300 beers from more than 50 countries competed this year. Lindemans won the prestigious award for ‘World’s Best Framboise Sour Beer’. After winning last year with Old Gueuze and Old Kriek, this year it’s Framboise Lindemans that gets the recognition from the jury.
“After the awards for our Old Gueuze and Old Kriek last year, we are thrilled to see our Framboise impressing the judges”, said Geert Lindemans, who together with his cousin Dirk represents the 6th generation leading the brewery. “It shows that all of our authentic Lambic beers are appreciated by the international public. There is literally nothing more encouraging than that.”
Framboise Lindemans is a blend of one-year-old oak-aged Lambic and pure raspberry juice. The result is a fruity aperitif with an intense flavor of raspberries and a soft sour finish.
The World Beer Awards is one of the most prestigious beer competitions in the world.
